Impressive Journey AKA Ashley

She would like a new horse barn.  Why?  Well, I think she may be tired of chewing on her barn.  Chewing you ask? Yes, her barn was built with eastern white pine trim pieces and stall doors, (not the best choice).

Native hemlock would have been a better choice.  Although when bored, she does chew on her hemlock fence, not nearly as much as the white pine.

This barn design rocks. Rough sawn hemlock timbers, traditional timber framing, beautiful design.

Ashley agrees, this could work.

Ok, who wants a Vermont Timber Works T-Shirt? Here’s the deal, leave a comment over the next week, I’ll draw a winner at random on Wednesday 6/27/12.  AND, 1st one who comments which breed of horse my Ashley is will get an extra entry.

Good Luck!

Sadly I know nothing about horses except Ashley is beautiful. The horse barn design is gorgeous but I am curious why there is a door with no landing? For stocking hay perhaps?

Hi Ginny, thank you for your comment! You are correct about the door, it’s for hay 🙂

Free T-shirt? Can I enter this contest? I don’t have any of those!

Quarter Horse? Sorry I don’t know much, but I know I’d love to have a look around that barn. The tshirt would suffice as a substitute until I make it to your area for a visit.

Can I phone a friend? I think I deleted that file on equine taxonomy to make room for more useless 18th century woodworking esoterica. She sure is beautiful whatever she is. Speaking of beautiful, that is an amazing barn. I want one! Would you please share some more pics or the interior and other sides.

Throwin a dart here – saddlebred?

Another good guess, thank you Sean! I may have to give a hint…

I’ve got it….Pleasure Horse! 🙂 (and if I win, I will give my shirt to Alexandrafunfit). Oh, and I could happily live in that barn, too!

Hi John, thanks for your comment much appreciated! Horsey hint next…

Ashley’s breed is most commonly recognized by having SPOTS, which she has not a one 🙂

  8. June 26, 2012 at 3:40 pm

An appaloosa pleasure horse? (wink to John)

    • June 26, 2012 at 3:46 pm

Excellent! Double entry for Ginny, good luck 🙂

I tried to comment from my iPhone, but no luck. I want to say either an Appaloosa, based on your hint, or an Arabian, based on her looks. Also, I believe that horse barn is nicer than my house. Dang.

    • June 27, 2012 at 7:50 am

Appaloosa she is! Good guess on Arabian also, she does have that look, especially when she’s high strung. Love this barn, such beautiful finishes.
